Dan Botwe endorses Bawumia

The Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation, and Rural Development, Dan Botwe, has openly endorsed Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the best choice to lead the New Patriotic Party as its flagbearer in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
Mr Botwe made this declaration during the Vice-President’s visit to Okere, as part of his campaign tour of the Eastern Region.
Addressing a gathering of NPP supporters, Mr Botwe, who is also the Member of Parliament for Okere, broke his silence on the flagbearer campaign, stating, “Since we started this flagbearership campaign, I have not spoken.
“But today, I will speak. I was elected General Secretary of the NPP 25 years ago. I have had experience working under several stalwarts of the Party. I know the NPP very well. I know very well all the 10 people contesting. But I am here at Okere saying this. Anyone who knows me knows that I speak the truth and you cannot influence me with anything. I love all the aspirants, but I love the NPP more”.
The Okere lawmaker also highlighted the importance of a forward-looking approach for the party’s success, saying, “My friends in the NPP, if we look at what is happening in Ghana and NPP now, we are looking into the future. NPP is the party that can ensure the progress of this country.”
He further expressed his strong belief in the NPP’s victory in the 2024 elections. “Based on my knowledge of the Party and judging from what is happening, I want to say and ask all of you to go and vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,” he said.
He went on to stress the importance of strategic decision-making, declaring, “We have to be very strategic as a party in order to win 2024. And the best strategic decision is to elect Vice-President Bawumia as our flagbearer.”
