Mahama, NDC Dept. General Secretary fingered in Aljazeera gold smuggling scandal

A four-part investigation by Al Jazeera’s Investigative Unit (I-Unit) has revealed a series of gold smuggling gangs in Southern Africa that helped suspected criminals launder hundreds of millions of dollars, getting rich themselves while plundering their nations.

According to the information, former President John Mahama and Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Foyo Gbande, have been fingered in Aljazeera gold smuggling scandal

The Gold Mafia investigation shows why the precious metal is so valuable as a way to turn dirty cash into sparkling clean, seemingly legitimate money for those with large amounts of unaccounted wealth.

The investigation also disclosed how the two NDC apparatchik use a complex web of companies, counterfeit identities and fake documents.

In 2014 when Alistair’s gold deal came up and was investigated his surety was Mustapha Ghande, who was an aide to Hon. Kwabena Adjei, National Chairman of NDC and currently the Deputy General Secretary of NDC.

Propaganda

But Alistair Jude Mathias’ gold issue in Ghana is not news to anyone who followed his issues from 2011 to 2014. It is on record (Court document) that he said he came to Ghana in 2009 and engaged in a lot of such deals whether genuinely or otherwise from 2011 to 2014 until he had issues with his partners.

Additionally, it is a lie that Nana Addo was his lawyer. Nana Addo has not practiced since 2001 to date so how was he a lawyer when Alistair came to Ghana in 2009?

Is this rocket science to know that Mr. President, Foreign Affairs Minister and Attorney General can’t be a lawyer for a private person when in such a matter? Nana Addo from 2009-2016, was also not engaging in any legal practice so how did he become his lawyer?

Sometimes, when you are doing propaganda with a cheap info, analyse it well.
