The New Patriotic Party Regional Chairman for Bono, Kwame Baffoe Abronye, has sworn to resign and join the National Democratic Congress, if former President John Mahama can take back Tema Port he sold.
In an interview on Movement TV/Wontumi radio, Mr Abronye emphatically promised under oath to step down from his position as the NPP Regional chairman of Bono, and campaign for John Mahama if he assures Ghanaians of being capable of taking back Tema Harbor he sold to Vincent Bolloré under a35 year contract.
According to him such selfish act is what has plunged Ghana into severe hardship.
”80% of the things we import comes through Tema Harbor and if you are a youth and you claim there is hardship, know that is it John Mahama that sold the Port. So as we speak today, everything about Tema Port has nothing to do with Ghana, so Ghanaians should question John Mahama if he will be able to take back Tema Port from his fellow white friend should he come to power.
“I can tell you on authority that today if Mahama is able to boldly say that when he comes to power, he will claim back Tema port which he sold, I will campaign and vote for John Mahama. Mark today’s date on which I swear that if former President John Dramani Mahama can promise Ghanaians that he sold Tema Port to his friend for 35 years and when voted into power, can take it back I will resign and campaign for Mahama,” he said.
