Sunyani Nursing College principals cry for resources, funds

Some of the principals of Sunyani Nursing Training and Midwifery College (SNTMC) have called on the government to empower the college in ensuring that they get their share from the sale of proceeds of trainee forms.

That, the principals believed, will enable the college to deliver adequately on its mandate.

Disclosing this to the Town Newspaper, the principals said there exists inadequate resources, funds and logistics available to them, hindering the successful delivery of their mandate.

Stating the challenges confronting them, they indicated that whenever the various nursing training schools sell their forms, the proceeds don’t go the college’s coffers.

According to them, there is a Nursing Training College Secretariat (NMTC Secretariat) under Ministry of Health, who take control of the sale of monies.

The principals, therefore, maintained that they do not get any share of such monies. As a result, they bemoaned that “SNTMC lack the needed funds and resources to carry our operations and other activities”.
